When my mom started teaching elementary school, she received different art supplies, games, toys, books and more to help with her new job. Elementary education requires much more than just textbooks and paper, the young kids need hands on things that help them with growing educationally. All the things my mother was given came from loved ones who were or are still teachers and had additional things. Somehow individuals that hold these positions always end up with duplicates and boxes upon boxes of additional supplies. Needless to say, my mother’s new empty classroom became full rather quickly.

The school district she teaches in supplies some furniture for each classroom. This usually just includes student desks and chairs, a desk for the teacher and some additional tables for the space, so my mom truly needed a great storage unit for all the things she received. Soon after pricing plastic tubs and shelving units, she made the decision to opt for commercial casework. By installing cabinets, every little thing could have its personal area. There was a cabinet for art supplies, one for toys and much more for growth in the future. An extra advantage to cabinetry was that the plastic laminate casework is hung on the wall and therefore does not take up extra floor area.

As previously pointed out, teaching elementary school requires a lot of supplies and because teachers only have one classroom, storage and organization are important. My mother enjoys performing things with her students, for instance carpet time during which stories are read and also art activities, so it was imperative to have as much floor area as was possible. Also, at the finish of each school year when it comes time to pack up the classroom for the summer season, this job is now simple because every little thing can be stored in a cabinet. In the end, hanging cabinetry worked out wonderfully and every little thing now has a spot in her jam-packed classroom.
